President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, to proceed on a 90-day pre-retirement leave, effective from August 24, 2023. This was announced in a statement issued by the presidency on Tuesday.
The statement also revealed that Tinubu has appointed Engr. Bisoye Coker-Adesote as the new DG of NIMC, who will serve in an acting capacity for 90 days, before assuming a full term of four years from November 24, 2023.
According to the statement, Tinubu thanked Aziz for his service and contributions to the development of the national identity system in Nigeria. He also congratulated Coker-Adesote on his appointment and urged him to continue the good work of NIMC.
In addition, Tinubu also approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub as the Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC), following the expiration of tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi. Yakub’s appointment takes immediate effect.
