Wizkid is not only killing it on the music scene, he’s also a proud father of three boys. The Afrobeats star has opened up about how fatherhood has shaped him as a person and an artist.
In a candid interview with UK-based afrobeats podcaster, Shopsydoo, in London, Wizkid said being a father has filled his heart with love and it is the motivation that keeps him going.
“It [being a father] has changed me a lot. I am grown; lots of love in my heart, fuels me to keep going, that is the drive, the only drive to keep me going. My family, my kids, I just feel blessed to be their father, take care of them, God put me in that position, it is the biggest blessing in the world, being able to recreate,” he said.
Wizkid also talked about his passion for music and how he is always trying to take his craft to the next level.
“I sleep, breathe, eat, sh*t music. I’m always trying to elevate my craft from my sound, my videos, my productions, everything to a whole new level,” he said.
The Grammy-award-winning artiste also teased some surprises for his fans including a new song and video set to drop next week.
Wizkid is currently on his Made in Lagos tour which has sold out venues across the US and Europe.
He will be performing at the O2 Arena in London for four nights in December.
Wizkid is one of the most influential artists in Afrobeats and has collaborated with big names like Drake, Beyoncé, Skepta and Burna Boy.
He recently won a BET Award for Best International Act and a MOBO Award for Best African Act.
