The Senate is currently in a closed-door meeting to discuss the list of ministerial nominees believed to have been submitted by the Presidency.
The meeting started few minutes into the commencement of today’s plenary, after the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced that the Senators should go into an executive session.
Sources say that the meeting may be about the ministerial nominees from President Bola Tinubu, who is seeking a second term in office.
The list is said to be creating problems among the Senators, as some are unhappy with the choices made by the President.
The Senate had earlier received petitions from some members of the public against some of the nominees.
It is not clear when the Senate will resume plenary and read out the list of the nominees.
The Senate is expected to screen and confirm the nominees before they can be sworn in as ministers by the President.
