During a recent address, Zulu conveyed President Tinubu’s heartfelt congratulations to the players and technical crew. He praised their grit, resilience, and the true Nigerian spirit they displayed during their match against Ghana’s Black Galaxies at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The Super Eagles B team secured their CHAN ticket with a 3-1 aggregate scoreline, marking Nigeria’s return to the tournament after a six-year absence.
“I want to inform you, the players and the technical crew, that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is happy with your performance on Saturday,” Zulu stated. “Your qualification showed the true Nigerian spirit in you, which Mr. President is proud of. You have made the country proud, and the Federal Government will do everything within its power to ensure you receive all the necessary support for the tournament in February 2025. Kudos to the coaches, players, and all the backroom staff”.
The match saw an impressive display from the Super Eagles B team, with goals from Sodiq Ismail, Nduka Junior, and Isaac Saviour, which put the game beyond the reach of the Ghanaians. Despite a late consolation goal from Amakhona Stephen, the Nigerian team emerged victorious, much to the delight of fans and officials alike.
