To facilitate smooth movement of travellers during the Eid-el-Kabir festivities, the Federal Government has decided to put a pause on the construction works on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway from June 27 to July 2, 2023.
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs Olukorede Kesha, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, June 26, 2023.
She said the suspension was necessitated by the heavy traffic flow on the Lagos-Shagamu route in the past few days, the rainy weather conditions and the advice of the traffic management team deployed on the project.
She added that construction activities would resume by Monday, July 3, 2023. She urged travellers to cooperate with the traffic management team and wished them happy Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
