Super Eagles Ready to Face Cameroon in a Friendly Match

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a friendly match tomorrow in Vienna, Austria. The match is part of the preparations for the World Cup qualifiers in September, where Nigeria will face Liberia and Cape Verde.

The match will kick off at 20:30 (West African Time) and will be broadcast live.

This will be the third meeting between the two African giants in 2021, after they clashed twice in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Nigeria won both matches, 4-0 at home and 1-0 away, to top their group and secure their ticket to the continental showpiece.

The last time they met in a friendly match was in 2015, when Cameroon won 3-0 in Brussels. However, Nigeria have the upper hand in their recent competitive encounters, having eliminated Cameroon from the 2019 Afcon in the round of 16 with a 3-2 victory.

Both teams will be looking to test their strength and depth ahead of the World Cup qualifiers, as well as build confidence and momentum. Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has called up a mix of experienced and young players, including captain Ahmed Musa, Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, and Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

Cameroon coach Toni Conceicao has also named a strong squad, featuring captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, Porto defender Chancel Mbemba, and Marseille midfielder Zambo Anguissa.

The match promises to be an exciting and entertaining one, as both teams have a rich history and rivalry in African football. Nigeria have won four Afcon titles, while Cameroon have won five. They have also qualified for the World Cup seven times each, more than any other African nation.
