Bolanle Ninalowo, a Nollywood actor, has made a breakthrough as the first Nigerian to star in a Hollywood blockbuster film ‘Extraction 2’. The film, which is a follow-up to the 2020 smash hit ‘Extraction’, features Chris Hemsworth as a hired gun who saves the abducted son of a crime boss.
Ninalowo, who is well known for his American accent and impressive performances in Nollywood films, posted some videos of his time on set on his Instagram page, eliciting enthusiasm and praise from his fans and peers .
The actor did not disclose much about his character in the film, but he said it was amazing to work with the team of ‘Extraction 2’. He also expressed his gratitude to Netflix for giving him the chance to be part of the project.
Ninalowo’s participation in ‘Extraction 2’ is regarded as a huge accomplishment for African cinema and Nollywood in particular, as it demonstrates the skill and potential of Nigerian actors on the international stage. Many Nigerians have shown their pride and support for Ninalowo, calling him a pioneer and a role model .
‘Extraction 2’ is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2023 on Netflix. It is directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, who also produced the film along with Anthony Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin.
